Sonoran Desert Jeep & ATV Tour
For guests who want a different angle on the desert — literally — a guided Jeep or ATV tour out of the Cave Creek/Carefree area is one of our most-requested add-ons. Local outfitters run trips into backcountry terrain that’s simply inaccessible on a normal hike, threading through washes, over rock, and up into foothill terrain with big payoff views.
Guides typically weave in real information along the way — desert ecology, local history, wildlife spotting (javelina and roadrunners are common) — so it’s more than just a bumpy ride. Sunset tours are especially popular, timing the return leg to catch the desert light show that gives the Sonoran its reputation. Most tours run two to three hours and accommodate a range of group sizes.
It’s an easy way to cover more ground than hiking allows, especially for guests with limited mobility or those traveling with kids too young for a serious trail. Book ahead during peak season (October through April), when demand is highest and desert temperatures are most comfortable. A genuinely fun way to spend a few hours and see the landscape from a completely different vantage point — ask us for outfitter recommendations when you check availability.
